I was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in the days immediately after our country began its journey as an independent nation. I was born to a family of public servants and my father served as a diplomat from Bangladesh. When I was three, I left Bangladesh with my family, when my father took up his assignment in Cairo, Egypt.
