I have visited and lived in many countries in Asia, Europe and the Americas, but living in Singapore is different, and pleasantly so. South Asians share their personal experiences of living and working in different parts of the world.

The study of diaspora has emerged as a key area of scholarly inquiry in the humanities and social sciences. This first series of articles traces the various phases in the formation of the Bangladeshi, Indian and Sri Lankan diasporas.
